That LEGO Pick-up truck we saw as quite a triumph in the moves by them to make a slight diversion and bring us an unexpected ride. Today our jaws hit the deck when we opened this press release all about their VW T2 build, it’s not so much just the iconic nature of this 2,207 piece build but the detail is utterly brilliant and likely a little challenging to complete – well it is an Expert Creator set aimed squarely at the kidult market.

Firstly, there is an actual pop-up roof mimicking the real thing and step inside for an impressive interior with intricate detail all around. There’s a kitchen complete with a fridge, sink, cabinets, and you’ll find items like cups throughout the inside and kit in the cabinets.
The rear seat folds, the table pivots out, and plaid fabric curtains attach to the windows. There’s decent detail at the front where the driver and passenger sit. The steering wheel turns the front wheels. Lights around the teal/white exterior are faithfully recreated, as is the front-mounted spare tire. Surfboards and neat-o Lego folding chairs to boot!

“Though the Volkswagen Camper is no stranger to our Lego cars collection, this latest iteration brings even more delights for Lego builders,” said Lego Designer Sven Franic. “The meticulously kitted out interior is sure to charm seasoned campers and adventurers alike, while the eye-catching exterior with a pop-up roof is a feat of engineering just like the original.”
Such detail doesn’t come without a cost, however. Lego says its new T2 Camper kit will cost $179.99, and it will be available starting August 1 at Lego stores.
