A couple of years has passed since the folk at Orbotix unleashed the super-speedy Bluetooth controlled game-playing interactive machine to these here shores, amongst the electronic gadget community it was deemed to be quite cute. Then the Ollie followed, more interested in off-road activity with its nubby tyres, speeds of 14mph and an addiction to spins, drifts and flips – more demon than its spheroid sibling. The latest member of the line-up appears to have gone a little more off-grid if you will, unable to compete directly with its predecessors Darkside Ollie punts itself as a futuristic adrenaline junkie. The polycarbonate chassis makes it a rugged all-terrain ground eater, the pack complete with nubby and turbo tyres just download the app for multiplayer gaming fun and to unleash pre-programmed tricks. It has a glowing LED light at the front and, as you’ll know, that’ll always get our cursor over to the buy button – a shade under a ton this way
