Hornby Hobbies’ Model Shop of the Year 2025 is……..

There were almost 150 shops nominated and, after a public vote and evaluation by an expert judging panel the title was decided. These awards recognise independent model shops that go above and beyond in supporting their local model communities, highlighting the wellbeing benefits of hobbies, and inspiring the nextgeneration of hobbyists.

Salisbury Model Centre, owned by Clive “Oz” Osbaldeston, stood out for its deep community engagement and commitment to making hobbies accessible to all.

Andy Parkins from Men’s Sheds, one of this year’s judges, praised Oz’s approach to model retailing: “Oz’s offers a place for everyone and is clearly an important social hub. We were impressed with Oz’s introduction into model shop ownership, being inspired through his work with Models for Heroes and very much carrying on this mantel. His further plans for outreach modelling workshops, with the Scouts, is exciting as an opportunity for youngsters to get involved, where so many are now missing the wellbeing benefits of hands-on making and modelling.”

Hornby Hobbies extends its congratulations to Salisbury Model Centre and to all the finalists—Jadlam Toys & Models, Great Eastern Models, Rails of Sheffield, and Chester Model Centre—for their outstanding contributions to the model hobby industry.
