Have fun, keep fit

More than a third of families have been inspired to become more active during lockdown with almost one in five (19%) households exercising more than ever before. This new card game from TOMY aims to keep those numbers up by mashing up classic snap with a “get up and do a challenge” twist. If you’re too slow to shout snap when a matching card appears you’ll be challenged to act out anything from jumping jacks to sit-ups.

Putting a fun spin on a classic family favourite, the concept for the game was originally created by students and their teacher from Simon Balle All-through School as part of the Design Museum’s flagship learning programme – Design Ventura. The project encourages students from schools across the UK to develop a new product to be made and sold in the Design Museum Shop, challenging them to combine creativity and business acumen.

Claire Ridley, Head of Marketing at TOMY, said: “One positive seen as a result of lockdown, has been families being able to spend more quality time together and it’s been great to see so many households using that time to be more active. We’re confident Active Snap will become a firm favourite in households across the country – helping to make fitness even more enjoyable!”
