Bitzee is the latest tech-embracing digital pet

Whilst your Tamagotchi is stuck on screen these new Bitzee digital pets from Spinmaster use a rapidly strobing LED strip to create a visual that looks real. These pixelated pets start out as a puppy and, after being lavished with attention evolve into fully-grown versions all living inside the clamshell case. There are up to 15 other characters that can also be coaxed out and each appears in a holographic fashion right there in your hand. Retail price we have as around $30, the unit is battery operated and lasts around six hours with each Bitzee containing all the characters inside so whilst the battery life may not be brilliant you’ll only need one Bitzee to own all the characters – Tamagotchi appears to be a toy that just scratches a nostalgic itch for Kidults, the Bitzee looks set to attract those most demanding of consumers and we predict this one won’t stay on shelves for long.
