CORGI Toys 267 Batmobile is back in the die cast range, it hasn’t had that accolade for forty years. Following success of recent classic re-releases including the Captain Scarlet (Classic) – Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle, Stingray and Thunderbird 2, this Batmobile, based on the ride from the 1966 TV show has all the classic gadgets of the original – firing rockets, Batboat tow hook and a pop out chain slasher blade. It is out now, £40 of your hard-earned for the shelfworthy specimen that has Batman and Robin figures and the entire thing wrapped up in classic packaging.
Does this put a dent in the actual vintage market? Some collectors might have some words to say but those wanting a classic Batman ride at an affordable price will speak louder with their actions than the any purists as they grab one uttering *“With My Three-Seconds-Flat-Bat-Combination-Unscrambler, Commissioner.”
