For the first time, Southeastern has partnered with a ‘toyologist’ (aka me) and some play experts to give customers travelling on selected highspeed services this week a very special journey

‘EnterTrainMent’ runs through the first week of August and includes a fantastic selection of games for customers to play on their journey, from board game providers including; Big Potato, Thames & Kosmos and Ravensburger.

The games are suitable for everyone to enjoy and are available on selected highspeed seaside runs from London St Pancras down to Whitstable, Margate, Ramsgate and other fantastic destinations in Kent.

Those travelling can pick from a selection of games, including; ‘That’s not a Hat’, ‘P is or Pizza’, ‘Ubongo Travel’, ‘Herd Mentality’ and ‘Sounds Fishy’.

Customers will also be guided through the rules by on-board “Enter-Trainers” and lucky customers will also be given specially selected games to take away for free and continue the fun for the rest of their getaway.

Peter Jenkinson, toy expert and board game journalist said:

“Getting more people playing together more often is a mantra the entire toy industry is fully behind and I’m privileged to play a small part in helping to do just that”.

Mark Borny, On Board General Manager at Southeastern, added:

“We wanted to bring in the start of August with a special experience for our customers and this felt like a fun way for families to  start to their holiday trips onboard our highspeed services.

“This is all part of our efforts to make it even easier for customers in London, Kent and parts of Sussex to leave the car at home and use the train to visit some of the wonderful destinations across our network. We are running additional services, providing extra capacity wherever possible as well as continuing to offer great value advance fares throughout this summer.

“The games offer a fun way for people to interact and have a memorable and enjoyable journey and we hope our customers have a great time enjoying these games and Southeastern helped to get their trips off to a great and fun start!”

Becky McKinlay, Head of Marketing at Big Potato, said:

“We wanted to help Southeastern with this amazing initiative to ease some of that summer holiday travel stress and make the journey more enjoyable for all and when they came to us with the idea we were certainly all on-board”.
