Minifig Barcode-Decoder

The unleashing of the individual minifigs from Lego was massively exciting, but has anyone else just ended up with four magicians and twelve skateboarders? No? Just us then.

Nevertheless, some clever clogs – sensing our plight no doubt – has come up with this rather nifty barcode decoder so you simply match up the numbers on the packets and effectively try before you buy.

Now, you may look at bit odd rifling through the packets by the till matching them up to a load of barcodes on a printed out sheet of A4 but we’re pretty sure that’s not breaking any laws and it’s got to be worth the effort surely..

Politics Peppered with Pigs

Peppa Pig

Peppa Pig’s PR team are certainly working over time ahead of the General Election. A long time supporter of Sure Start children’s centres Peppa has, with regret, decided to remain a-political in these fraught and uncertain times and has, after much soul searching, decided not to attend the centre’s launch event for the Labour Families Manifesto. Peppa, obviously a mature and considerate model of her species is afraid of sparking controversy (and maybe losing any young Tory viewers). But we reckon there must be plenty of cartoon characters out there who aren’t bothered about sticking it to the man and voicing a political allegiance (answers on a postcard please) – surely the Babar family will be turning out on May 6th to vote Conservative, and Dora the Explorer will no doubt be opposed to any plans of the Green Party to stop her un-eco-friendly global expeditions…

Pink in the Dock

Spaceball
Pink-Toy-256x256
Great story in the Telegraph today about the "Pinkification" of Toys and how two parents have set up a campaign to boycott ELC for their over concentration of pink stuff for girls, finding pink cash tills, washing machines and globes particularly offensive.. Do girls not like pink? Do these girls not like pink? Are they right to be making such a fuss? Should we put aput a blanket ban on the colour pink? Do let us know your thoughts.

Elmo Updated

Elmo_3

Cast your minds back a decade toy lovers and remember the red plush by the name of Elmo, the best seller of 1996 who loved a good laugh. Tickle me Elmo is set to get a 21st century update, and using the latest technology be as big a phenomenon on his 10th anniversary as he was pre-noughties. TMX Elmo (tickle me extreme) has only been seen by a selected few within Fisher Price and its parent company Mattel and the response has far exceeded expectations, in fact retailers and even consumers are placing order where possible before seeing it. We’re off to the launch on the 19th September and will hopefully be able to report back with a striaght face, here’s the only image available – We love this cloak and dagger stuff.
