Because there are not yet enough Angry Birds products, we thought we would bring to you on a somewhat murky Friday morn, the latest incarnation of the foul tempered fowls (see what we did there? Yes we know they’re not technically chickens, they are just non descript birds that are angry, but it’s Friday and we’re trying so leave it out).

So here is the Angry Birds Action Game, ta da! And it’s a whopper at a metre wide – check out that superimposed 100cm image for proof if you don’t believe us.

Still, despite the unnecessary sarcasm , this game does actually get the thumbs up from us and ten bonus points for attempting to recreate the actual premise of the much loved app. Play it indoors or out, you build you wooden shack and pelt the pig with your squidgy beanbag style birdy and score some points. Brilliant. Available to pre-order for £24.99 here

Still, there really are probably enough Angry Birds spin offs now..

Feel the Fourth Luke

Amongst our favourite days of the year is this one that has been hijacked by Star Wars fans (and purveyors of all things Star Wars – who started it?). The Twittersphere is trending #starwarsday #starwars #maythefourth, fan boys and girls will be pulling sickies to stay home and watch boxsets, those going to work will be discussing their favourite moments from the series and those who have never watched a single Star Wars will be ridiculed all day with comments such as “never watched a Star Wars you have not”.  To celebrate this major excuse to do anything Star Wars based we have a competition, we’re going to celebrate this May the 4th or Star Wars day by giving away two sets of spanking new LEGO® Star Wars™ sets – To win, we want your best Star Wars joke, read on……

There is something deeply satisfying about creating stop-motion films, one of the reasons is that its time consuming, the other is that the end result is deeply rewarding. LEGO have rolled out their iPhone app that’ll let you use your LEGO DC Universe Super Heroes figures and sets to create fiilms that are certain to go viral.  LEGO describe the app as follows “Simple tools and guides make it easy to shoot, edit, even score your movie with music”. “Add one of the customisable title cards and share it online and who knows, you may have the next summer blockbuster in your hands.” Well perhaps, at the very least you’ll ave a film that you can make as wildly ludicrous, hilarious and downright daft as you like. We thinkit is imperative that you should dream up storylines that involve other LEGO sets, girls from LEGO Friends as love interests, LEGO NXT as the havoc wreaking creature looking to take over earth – you get the picture. Heroine Katniss sports a bow and arrow, and does plenty of damage with her accuracy in the UK release of the blockbuster Hunger Games today. Since opening in the US kids (of all ages) have been signing up for lessons at Archery clubs, that’s far too faddy for us, just pick up the finest toy bow/arrow kit around in the shape of the fine Z-Curve launcher and have yourself some grin inducing fun. A couple of round-nosed projectiles that easily reach 80 feet and a sucker dart that’ll pretty much latch on to any flat surface (foreheads not included), we predict a sell-out week ahead, we already have ours, click above and grab yours with haste.

We are, according to the Guardian, running low on Helium and one scientist in particular is putting the blame squarely on the party balloon industry and, that’ll now include our favourite flyers the Air Swimmers. Pressure on stocks aren’t likely to let up anytime soon from our end, we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bass and Whale version of these surreal R/C’s – Air Swimmers are the only brand that’ll not have you trying to cancel your credit card transaction. Here’s an Angry Bird version too (pictured) selling only in the US righ now, looking forward to a video with a few of them appearing on-screen, despite it making little sense it’s tail flaps and not the wings, it’s forgiven. Anyhow, use your helium responsibly with our top inert gas tips – Do not extract for voice pitch rising purposes, top up your floating fish with a straw every couple of days to keep it high on the buoyancy scale and fly constantly with friends taking shifts 24/7 to get max flying time from this precious resource. Signing its third licencing deal with gaming firm Ubisoft (Gears of War and Sonic in the bag already) we’re now looking forward to  Meccano creating a range that’ll include the Rabbids’ crazy toilet complete with flushing sound effects and pullback motor, a time travelling washing machine with motorised spin, a working catapult with splat mat target and surreal racing shopping trolley complete as well as a variety of figures. Come on, hurry up and get them on the shelves.

Angry Birds getting Flash

Yup, the licensing wagon rolls out once more for the Angry Birds mob and this time we’re treated to a quadruplet of the crew, red bird, yellow bird, king piggy and white bird as USB flash drives. They’re each able to carry around 4GB of your precious data and we think hat wanting to fling them into a structure of Jenga bricks or LEGO will be overwhelming, so buy one (or more) and get on with it. £14.99 a piece from FIREBOX

We have seen a few 3D puzzlesover the past months, these new ones from Wrebbit (we’ll get to the bottom of that name creation soon) are these landmark builds, each one a 750 piece plus affair, not easy by any means but deeply satisfying when finished. From the Taj Mahal to Big Ben there’s a few to choose from and are about the biggest in their class, and priced between £20-£40 when launched in June over at Amazon.

Marshmallow fun was once limited to the game of stuffing them into one’s mouth and trying to make others in your team comprehend the words you uttered – Or was that just us? Well, no longer is it the only non-eating based fun to be had with the king off confectionary, the Marshmallow blaster lets you load one of the (full sized)mtreats inside, pump up the gun and sent yours soaring to a grateful recipient up to 40 ye  FORTY feet away. The evolution of marshmallow based projectile technology continues apace, we’ve discovered the Bow and Mallow, this one with a magazine style storage unit that feeds up to 25 mini-marshmallows into the firing chamber for launches of up to 30 feet, and, in more medieval marshmallow news, here’s the marshmallow crossbow, it also fires mini marshmallows, again at up to 30 feet but the double magazine lets you fire off 25 from each magazine – marauding marshmallow enemies do not stand a chance. Have a butchers at Maps Toys they’ve some other interesting lines too
