Marshmallow fun was once limited to the game of stuffing them into one’s mouth and trying to make others in your team comprehend the words you uttered – Or was that just us? Well, no longer is it the only non-eating based fun to be had with the king off confectionary, the Marshmallow blaster lets you load one of the (full sized)mtreats inside, pump up the gun and sent yours soaring to a grateful recipient up to 40 ye  FORTY feet away. The evolution of marshmallow based projectile technology continues apace, we’ve discovered the Bow and Mallow, this one with a magazine style storage unit that feeds up to 25 mini-marshmallows into the firing chamber for launches of up to 30 feet, and, in more medieval marshmallow news, here’s the marshmallow crossbow, it also fires mini marshmallows, again at up to 30 feet but the double magazine lets you fire off 25 from each magazine – marauding marshmallow enemies do not stand a chance. Have a butchers at Maps Toys they’ve some other interesting lines too

This week was the official Disney store Christmas launch, and us lucky so and so’s at Toyology were lucky enough to go along for a bit of celebrity spotting and to make some last amendments to our Christmas list.

Working with some 55 charities this year, including Great Ormond Street, those festive folks at Disney are going to be donating over 7,000 cuddly toys to children who would otherwise not be getting any pressies this year.

We went down to the flagship store on Oxford Street to join in the festive fun.

We drank: Prosecco, pomegranate cordial

We ate: risotta in parmesan crisps, turkey roulade on potato rosti

We made: a festive biscuit in the shape of a snowman (cleverly utilising a marshmallow as the hat might we add)

We saw: Peter Andre and family, Tamsin Outhwaite and Duchess of Kent (oo er!) amongst others

We liked: Everything! But we took home a wintery Minnie Mouse complete with ice skates.

There’s some debate at Toyology Towers, those from the south claim it has been “Bundlee” since saxon times but we from the North claim the Vikings named it “Pile On”. Of what do we talk? Why that collective yelling of the phrase in question when there are a group of people and one hapless individual is lying on the ground, spotted by one other amongst the group who then yells out the phrase in question and all the others “pile On” or “Bundle” atop. You can acheive similar results via the guise of playing a less child-like way and purchase Twister, already got one? OK, Cholcolate Twister? Same play format but each move is selected from choosing a square with instructions on the outside as to which limb goes where, then, award yourself with the Belgian delight inside. £9.99 HERE – The perfect after dinner game, Trivial Pursuit…Pah

Say it with a Stamp…

No, not the gum backed variety that’ll get your postage delivered but with this rather decent looking set of ink-stamps licenced by confectioners Swizzel Matlow. The tube contains three separate stamps, each with a message for your sweetheart/object of desire/boss? Adding a touch of affection to dreary everyday messages on post-it pads or as a fine finishing touch for the back of a letter to be posted or perhaps just a random stamp on someones desk/arm to show you care. It’s only a fiver from SUCK UK

Tastes Funny?

With the name ” Jelly Belly Beanboozled” we had no idea what was inside the box, now we know and couldn’t think of a better name for this slightly bizarre creation. A game combined with eating sweets, sounds great, oh and it has a spinner, we love games with spinners.  Inside each box there is a random mix of twenty flavours, ten tasty nuggets and ten nasty to the tongue. Inspiration for the not so top ten comes from some of the foulest smells/tastes around such as mouldy cheese, baby wipes, dog food and, how they managed to get this in a bean, BARF! So, pop a brown bean in your mouth and discover immediately if it’s the dreamy Chocolate Pudding taste ot tha of Tinned Dog Food. £7.99 for something quite unique.

Magically Mouldable Munchables

We saw the words Magic and Choc and immediately this rather colourful box had our full attention.

Now you might think that chocolate that you can mould into a multitude of shapes is not such an innovative idea, but keep reading.. This chocolate is like plasticine. Only edible. And it’s not plasticine it is still actual chocolate.

Some clever clogs somewhere in the world (maybe in Belgium seeing as it is proper Belgian chocolate in the pack would you believe) has come up with a way of packaging up chunks of tasty chocs and keeping them soft enough to be pliable (without melting or crushing). Don’t be scared, it’s all in the way it sets apparently.

And at just £5.99 a box here at Firebox we don’t care if Easter’s been an gone, we’re getting moulding now!

Before you begin the stampede to your cinema, it’ s actually the 18th May, but “Jack is Nearly Back” looked like a pretty poor headline to us. The perma-sozzled High sea’s tripper returns in Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides, on the search or the fountain of Youth, battling the King’s men, Zombies, Mermaids and Blackbeard, excited? Yes us too. No need to hang about Mi’Hearties, grab yourself a 1,094 piece Queen Anne’s Revenge, a LEGO build that’s grabbed itself a coveted Toyology Gold award for sheer brilliance. The set includes large sails, lanterns, fire elements of all sizes, and bone detailing about the deck with SEVEN minifigures Blackbeard, Jack Sparrow, Angelica, Quartermaster, a Cook and a pair of Zombie Pirates. So, when you’ve completed this epic build, and admired it for a while, get stuck in and mess with the detachable Captains quarter (detail inside here is superb), three firing cannons, moving anchor and plenty of other bits to play about with as you await you call from Angelica (Penelope Cruz) – This set you back £102.99 HERE,  a fair few pieces of eight this far from Yule yes, but we think well worth it, and are certain there’ll be non left by then mi’Skurvies so set sail without haste to ye olde checkout.

Inedible Easter

Easter, contrary to popular belief, is actually not entirely about chocolate.

Now you’ve recovered from that little factoid, we’d like to embrace this ideal for a moment to present you with some non-edible Easter gifts that are sure to baffle and upset any child you give them to (That doesn’t mean they’re not lovely. That just means they’re not made of chocolate).

How about an egg that you put a plant in? NB: Do be clear, especially when giving the cactus one as a gift, that these are most definitely not for eating. £6.99 over a Firebox

Royal-tea..Geddit?

We’re doing our best not to buy into all the Royal Wedding kerfuffle here at Toyology Towers, but when we spot gems like these royal teabags, we are forced to abandon our principles!

These pun-tastic teabags make the soon to be weds look like they’re having a relaxing swim in your tea, like it was a bubble bath or summat – how very uncouth!

And if you want the nitty gritty tea leafy details it’s a classic brew blended with Assam. £5.99 over at Firebox if you fancy a cuppa.
