Secret Agent stocking filler

If it were his real name it’d be quiet funny so lets stick witg it for now, Secret Agent Stocking Filler – Limbs, satsumas or small gifts, he can find them all. Right, this is actually GRIP from Playmobil’s Secret Agent range of fabulous playthings, we chose this one as the office walls are littered with this little man and we have strung our Xmas lights between them, to dramatic effect. We shall be deploying them next Yule with string between them to hold our Xmas cards, for the rest of the year we think they shall stay deep undercover. Only £2.99 a pop, grab one, a few…many

Utterly pointless toy of the year prize is awarded to this, Air Table Tennis. Toy you’re most likely to consider buying this week or sticking down as an entry on your Santa List award goes to this, Air Table Tennis. With no ball needed, it’ll not get lost, with no table needed you can satisfy your Ping Pong whims wherever and whenever you want. FLick the switch and make your serve, and marvel at the satisfying “clonk” sound eminating from the bat, then the sound of the ball hitting a table thats not there, the opponent (that’s the one, that’s not there) returns the shot “tock” and now it gets tricky, this isn’t just a sound efffects machine! You must now judge the speed of their shot from the time it takes to bounce on your side of the table and match the timing with a return hit and another, deeply satisfying “thwock” as you return the ball, and repeat – Your virtual opponent varies the speed of the return, this is getting addictive now and we’re only reading about it. This way please.

No this is not the latest sighting of a fifties style UFO but a hotel in Sweden, yours for about £420 a night with breakfast – Certainly close to the top of our places to visit in 2012, and to get us all interested in alien life forms, unidentified spacecraft and the whole abduction deal we’re browsing the Alien Conquest sets from LEGO. There are a few in the range of various sizes, great detail on all, a huge Mothership had us hovering over the buy button but we’re drawn to the UFO Abduction model, 211 pieces, three minifigures and an LED light that shines down as the tractor beam to capture the farmhand. A rubberised trap door underneath the craft allows you to land on the hapless countryboy and, as the push down, he is taken inside the craft for experimentation, or whatever it is they do. Cracking Christmas tree spotted in Clintons

We’re all in agreement here at Toyology Towers that it is still too early to be putting up your Chrimbo decorations, let the retailers deck the halls and inspire us, but as for your own indoor space we say a leave it week or so at least yet. There’ll be many who always opt for the “real thing” when it comes to Xmas trees and we’re fans to of the pine, spruce and fir options for that seasonal aroma, but……This weekend we eyed this factory produced number and reckon it is worth a consider if you’ve room for two trees. Sitting in its own upside down umbrella style stand it produces tint balls of fake snow (read polystyrene balls) from the top which spray out of the top just enough to cover the branches and fall eventually to the collection unit where they’re sent once more to the top for a superb snow effect. Best get yours in now as they were selling fast at £79.99 from a Clintons store near you.

The upper class fox was at his very best in the eighties, close to the cuff humour for kids TV, often ridiculing his guests and co-hosts, quality Telly. Now you can own your own Basil Brush handpuppet, give him a squeeze and he’ll let out his grin inducing laugh topped off with a legendary “Boom Boom” at the end. At just £12.99 seems like a no-brainer.

With a White one near guaranteed across the UK the onset of the annual snowfall in this country has led to one major benefit – better snow based gadgetry. Best of the bunch is this new arrival from our old favourites at Wham-O, the Arctic Force Snowball Blaster, enough in the name to have many on the opposition cower for cover, the ones who do not are in for a surprise. Load the blaster with snow and it’ll create three perfect projectiles, pull back on the bands and release yours up to 80 feet, a distance only Olympians could acheive unaided. So impressed are we that a Toyology Gold has been allocated to this supreme snow machine. £24.99 HERE

Shine a Light that’s seven quid gone

We’ve had wall lights styled as oversized bricks, bedside minifigure lights with LED’s inside their legs, keyring Darth Vader with a light in his limb and now, when we thought we had enough LEGO based lights, they show us this. Yes, it’s another “must-have” for the obsessive collectors of all things Danish brick here at Toyology Towers. A simple, and in our eyes probably the best of the illuminating bunch, size of a regular eight stud, press one of them and the light shines. Assorted colours, collects them all….Well why not. £6.95 HERE
