Right now it’s the British Festival of Indiana Jones Archaeology so we thought we’d don our Fedora and whip and get into the spirit:
This rather exciting gizmo is called Dino Xcavator but we can’t help thinking they’ve missed a trick in not naming it Dinoperation as the basic premise is the same as the well known hospital buzzer game; pick a card, answer a question and dig some bones – buzzzzzzzzzz
Purple Puffin also has a range of exciting archaeological goodies, for the truly patient this Hatching Dinosaur Egg is a bargain. Now, the egg may only be plastic but apparently using these handy excavation tools which we’re calling Wooden Poking Sticks just because that’s easier to say, you can coax a baby dinosaur out…
Finally for those taking the whole thing a tad too seriously – these people are most likely wearing aforementioned hat at a jaunty angle and may have got confused along the way and started wearing a monocle and smoking a pipe too, that’s Sherlock Holmes by the way and you shouldn’t be mixing your themes like that – well this Archaeology Kit should satisfy your every need. It comes with loads of stuff including your own trowel. I know right? The 24 page novel instruction book will give you all the basics on unearthing buried treasure, and piecing together the enclosed broken vase (something we won’t be trying after our previous Piggy Bank experience – see earlier posts if you missed this)
Obviously there are loads of events going on to celebrate British Archeology Festival too from excavation days and behind the scenes tours but our research has shown that these are the easiest and most dirt free ways to celebrate, so enjoy!
